Loomis Bits

Joyce Loomis-Kernek, a former WPRA and AQHA Champion Barrel Racer and World Renowned Clinician, designed the original Loomis Gag Bit. The Loomis Gag offers poll pressure and independent lateral pressures, helping to raise the head and stand a horse up in the turn more readily than a traditional ring snaffle. Many use this bit as the first transition out of a snaffle. When used correctly, its unique gag action helps collect the horse and lift the shoulder in the turn without being too harsh. Its one-of-a-kind design has been trusted by some of the most prominent horse trainers for more than 25 years, and still is today.
